You're gonna miss this

Boy am I... A couple of weeks ago I heard Kalei in the bathroom singing. I walked closer to hear the song thinking it would be one of her favorites from Little Mermaid or maybe even her singing "Stealing Cinderella" a country song we both love that she has memorized. When I got close enough to hear, my eyes immediately welled up with tears. She was singing "You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins. This has been a favorite song of mine since right before we left CA. When I am having a really hard day sometimes I will just start singing the chorus. To remind myself that I am going to miss this. With all the temper tantrums, battles, messes, runny noses, bottom wiping, spoon feeding, chasing fleeing kids, and all... when Kalei and Alice are grown all of that will be gone, but so will the endless hugs and kisses, story times, playground visits, little smiling faces, delight in the smallest and simplest things, monkey toes, chubby-yummy knees, booty pinching, and all the wonderful joys that go along with being a mommy. So yes Kalei, I am going to miss this!
