Mother's Day Brunch

Alice preschool holds a Mother's Day Brunch to honor the moms of the kids they love so much! It was so nice. The kids sang us cute songs... Alice's class sang "My mommy can"

Who can take a frown
turn it upside down
cover me with kisses and cookies and a milk
my mommy can
my mommy can

Because she mixes it with love
and makes the world so good

Who can build me up
when I feel so blue
with a miracle or two

my mommy can
my mommy can

because she care when I get hurt
and she buttons up my shirt

when she mixes it with love
and makes the world so good

My mommy can
My mommy can!

Of course I cried... she sang like a bird! Then we released some butterflies and had a yummy brunch all prepared by the wonderful teachers and Mrs Holly.

Thank you to SHUMP for my special day and my Alice for loving me so MUCH!

Slinky Fun

For Easter my MIL sent the girls Slinkys! I have to say that seeing the girls play with there Slinkys took me back. I remember vividly playing with my sister with our Slinkys. It was always so much fun! The girls had a blast with them... until they tried to jump rope with them and they got bent and no longer work....:( Sometimes they just won't listen to reason! But it was a good 3 hours or Slinky fun for them! Thanks Granma!

Teacher Appreciation

We love our teachers!

Kalei and Alice have amazing teachers. We have been so blessed to have these special ladies teach our girls. They are so kind and caring. They challenge the girls and have created a love for learning that will last them a lifetime.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!

Kalei's First tooth....

Lost!

Kalei has waited a LONG time to lose this tooth. It seems that all her friends at school lost teeth months ago. She said months ago "my tooth is loose!" It really wasn't but she really wanted it to be. She had her finger in her mouth constantly trying to force it to be loose. In time that got old and she moved on to something else. But then a couple of weeks ago it really got loose! Oh how excited she was! Shawn told her she should pull it out herself. I thought that was just plain mean, but whatever daddy says goes. A few days of fierce wiggling and a little twisting and it was ready to come out. But Kalei wasn't ready to pull it... until in got in her way of eating a corn dog! We were at Red Robin before a gymnastics meet and she said "mommy, my tooth won't let me eat". I explained she had 2 choices: She could take fate in her own hands and go to the restroom and pull it or she could she what happens while she eats her ENORMOUS corndog and risk swallowing her tooth! She went to the restroom and pulled it out! I thought that was a wise choice!

It seems like just yesterday that my Kalei girl was cutting her first tooth. I thought she was getting too big too fast then! Now she has lost her first tooth... I mean she is really getting too big too fast. Trace Adkins was right when he wrote, "Your Gonna Miss This". I miss my Kalei as a baby and now as she is growing so rapidly into a young girl, I find myself searching her face for that baby I loved and nurtured. Thankfully. I find her...

(notice her little, white tooth buds and drool!)

NYC and besties!

I was so lucky while I was in Rhode Island to make a trip into NYC. Thankfully, my bestie from way back was able to meet me and we had a reunion of sorts! It was so awesome to see Sandra. I am so thankful to have such a good friend to take time out of her life to make me feel so special. We were able to have a super yummy dinner together, take in a Broadway Show: Memphis, and stay up late talking like school girls. We also got to SHOP together, a very favorite pass time!

I had such an AMAZING weekend! Thank you, Sandra for making it so special!

Baby Matthew

While I was in Rhode Island, I made a quick trip into Boston to visit with Shawn's brother, his wife, and their boys. It was so nice to play with Steven and hold Matthew. We got to have a great lunch with them and I spent most of the time holding baby Matthew. I am so thankful he is feeling so much better. I can't wait to be able to spend more time with them all!

(me and baby Matthew... Steven was way to fast for me catch for a pic!)
